Vol. 6 No. 2 (2024): The Research Competencies of University Professors: A Literature Review

This study addresses the importance of research competencies among university professors in academic knowledge generation. It explores the current state of research in this field and highlights gaps and emerging areas of interest. Through a systematic literature review, the analysis focuses on the methods and approaches used to characterize these competencies, as well as the prevalence of research in developing countries. It emphasizes the need for future research to adopt a comprehensive approach and employ mixed methods to better understand the research competencies of university faculty.
