6. Editorial Process and Type of Peer Review:

At JMSHRS (Journal of Multidisciplinary Studies in Human Rights and Science), we are dedicated to transparency in our peer review process. Our commitment to quality and integrity is reflected in the following editorial process:

Submission and Initial Assessment:

  1. Author Submission: Authors submit their manuscripts to our journal for consideration.
  2. Editorial Assignment: Upon submission, the Journal Director appoints an Editor responsible for the manuscript's initial assessment.
  3. Editorial Peer Review: The assigned Editor conducts the initial reading and editing, evaluating the manuscript's alignment with our thematic scope and adherence to our editorial standards.

Peer Review Process:

  1. Double Anonymous Peer Review: Manuscripts that meet the initial criteria undergo a rigorous double-blind peer review. This ensures anonymity for both authors and reviewers. Evaluation criteria include alignment with the journal's objectives and themes, clarity and relevance of the discourse, organizational structure, quality of references, originality, abstract quality, title relevance, and adherence to editorial rules.

Revision and Corrections:

  1. Author Feedback: Authors receive feedback from peer reviewers and may be asked to make revisions to enhance the manuscript's quality.
  2. Three Strikes System: Our journal employs a "Three Strikes" system. Authors have three opportunities to make corrections to address reviewer and editor comments and improve their manuscript.

Final Stages:

  1. Final Editing and Production: Upon successful completion of the peer review process, manuscripts proceed to final editing, translation, layout formatting, and preparation for publication.
  2. Publication and Dissemination: Once finalized, the manuscript is published in our journal and disseminated to our readership and the broader academic community.

We also embrace the principles advocated by CoaRa (Coalition for Advancing Research Assessment) and DORA (San Francisco Declaration on Research Assessment). These principles emphasize responsible research assessment primarily based on qualitative judgment, with peer review playing a central role and supported by limited use of quantitative indicators.

Our comprehensive editorial process adheres to these principles, allowing us to maintain the highest standards of quality and integrity. We appreciate your contributions and dedication to advancing knowledge and open science.
