1. Subject of data protection
The subject of data protection is personal data. According to Section 3 Subsection 1 of the German Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG, Bundesdatenschutzgesetz), personal data refers to specific data about the personal or material circumstances of a specific or specifyable natural person. It includes, for instance, information such as your name, postal address, e-mail address or telephone number, if necessary also user data such as your IP address.
2. Collection and processing of data
The #RethinkProcess conference collects, processes and stores information provided when visiting our website and using our services (e.g. name, address, telephone number, participation in surveys, ordering of publications, registration for an event or signing up for our newsletter).
When visiting our webpage, the device you use to open the page automatically transfers log data (communication data) to our server. This is the case when you log on. Log data contains, for instance, the IP address of the device with which you have accessed the website. We save your IP address only to the extent necessary to manage the foundation panel and document and prevent misuse. IP addresses will be deleted within a reasonable period.
3. Use and disclosure of personal data
If you commission us to provide a service or send publications, we will use your personal information without express permission only to the extent necessary to provide such service or perform such contract. This includes in particular the disclosure of your personal data to shipping companies, credit institutions or other service providers engaged to provide such a service or fulfill the contract. After completion of the contract your personal data will be blocked for further use and deleted after expiry of the legal fiscal and commercial regulations applicable if you have not expressly agreed to any other further use of the data.
The #RethinkProcess discloses data to authorities and third parties only in accordance with legal regulations or a legal title. Information may be disclosed to authorities to meet security needs or for law enforcement purposes. Third parties will receive information only by order of a legal regulation. Stored personal information will be deleted once you revoke your consent to store your data, if knowledge of it is no longer necessary to fulfill the purpose for which it is stored, or if storage is not permitted for any other legal reasons.
If you would like to subscribe to our newsletter, in addition to your e-mail address we will require a confirmation that you are the owner of the e-mail address provided and that you agree to receive the newsletter. This information must be provided only for us to be able to send you the newsletter and to document our right to do so. The information will not be disclosed to any third party. You may revoke your subscription to our newsletter and your consent to store your e-mail address at any time.
b) Online questionnaire
Data submitted to us via the online questionnaire will be saved and processed in our database. Such data will be used by the #RethinkProcess for communication purposes as well as to prepare statistics and analyses.
4. Web analysis using Google Analytics
This website uses Google Analytics, a service provided by Google Inc. (“Google”) for the statistical evaluation of visitor accesses. Google Analytics uses so-called “cookies”, text files stored on your computer that facilitate the analysis of website use.
The information generated by the cookie about your use of the website will be transferred to and stored on a server of the provider in the United States of America. If you active the anonymisation-mode, Google will cut your IP-address within the borders of the European Union or other member states of the European Economic Area. Only in exceptional cases the full IP-address will be transferred to Google’s server in the USA and be cut there. By order of the provider of this website, Google will use this information to analise your use of the website, to compile reports on website use and to provide further services linked to the use of this website and the internet to the provider of this website. The IP-address transmitted by your browser will not be merged with other Google-data.
